FOOTBALL.
Tlie annual meeting of llie Manawatu Rugby Union will be held at Palmerston North on Monday evening next, and one of the most important matters to be dealt with (according to the Feilding Star) is the enforcement of subunion boundaries. It is about time that the Manawatu Union dealt with this question straightforwardly, as a recurrence of the trouble oflast year over the Foxton Sub-Union’s boundaries is not in the best interests of football in this district. Local followers of the game will remember the trouble the local sub-union had in having its boundaries defined. Application was made to the parent body early in the season, and three delegates from the sub-union were appoinlcvi to attend the meeting of the Manawatu Union and put the whole question before them. This was done, but instead of dealing with the matter at once, it was held over for some reason or other until almost the end of the season. However, by perseverence on the part of the Foxton executive, the boundaries were at last defined, to come into operation this season. Now that the local sub union has defined boundaries they intend, this year, to prevent any player residing within those boundaries from taking part in the competition controlled by the Manawatu Union. It is time the local clubs “ woke up ” and held their annual meetings. As soon as these are held, and delegates appointed, the annual meeting ot the sub-union will be held.
Ilimalangi and Moutoa have formed clubs, and intend entering teams in the local competition.
