Two sudden deaths occurred at the Thames. Peter Harvey Curtis, about 70 years of age, was found dead in a room at his residence, Karaka. He was last seen alive on the day previous. Some seizure of the heart or brain is supposed to have been the cause of death.

John M’lsaacs, aged 59, was reading a paper iu the hotel where he was staying, when he suddenly collapsed. Assistance was promptly rendered, but the man was found co be dead when it arrived. Deceased was identified with the mining industry, and was well-known on the goldfields. Invkrc akgii.l, March 21.

Jas. Miller, a well-known tanner in the Mossbnrn district, was thrown from a horse on Thursday, and died in the Riverton Hospital on Sunday. New Pf.vaiofTii, March 21.

An Imperial pensioner, named Francis Easllield Hilton, aged 79, committed suicide by cutting his throat this morning. It is staled that he had been drinking heavily lately. He leaves a widow and a large family.

A man named Nils Petersen, aged 70, was found dead in a stable attached to his premises at Stoney Creek this morning. The body was fully clothed. Death apparently look place yesterday.

Mr 11. Ply re Kenny, S.M., who was temporarily appointed iu place of Mr Keudrick, S.M., who is abseut ou sick leave, is confined to his house with illness. This necessitates a further adjournment of the Court. Mr Kenny will not act any longer than the end of the mouth. No intimation has been received locally as to when Mr Keudrick returns. Meanwhile magisterial business in this district is at a standstill.
