DOMESTIC OUTRAGE
Melbourne, March 5. A terrible domestic tragedy occurred at Newmarket, two and a half miles from Melbourne. A saddler named Kennedy was separated from his wife, who had initiated proceedings to recover arrears of maintenance. Kennedy visited the woman, and the pair quarrelled. After battering her head with a spade, the man shot her dead, and then turned the weapon on himself with fatal result.
