PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

A congregational meeting of the local Presbyterian Church was held last night for the purpose of considering the decision of the committee ot management in reference to the erection of a Sabbath School at the rear of the church. The Rev. Mr Aitken presided and explained what steps had beeu taken by the committee in the matter. Plans and specifications had been prepared and a price for the work obtained. The necessity for such a building had been recognised for some time. After discussion the meetunanimously agreed to the committee’s proposal, and the subject will be finally dealt with by the committee at next Thursday’s meeting. It was decided to circularise the members in reference to the envelope system of contributing. The idea being that members, give a definite sum annually, according to their means, and to be paid each Sunday. ' It was decided to accept the offer of a week’s mission by the Rev. Mr Patison at a date to be arranged. Other minor matters were discussed and the meeting closed in the customary manner.
