BATTLE WITH HOOLIGANS.
Melbourne, March 6
Owing to ill-usage of some Carlton girls by North Melbourne roughs, about 300 Carlton men and girls engaged in an all-round fight last night with a large body of North Melbourne larrikins. The fight lasted for two hours. Sticks and stones were freely used, and a large number were injured. The police arrested several of the ringleaders. About 600 took part in the affray.
