A FATAL FIRE.

BABY BURNT TO DEATH

PARENTS AT A CONCERT

Greytown, Yesterday. A fatal fire occurred at Greytown last night by which a little boy aged 2 years lost his life. His parents, Mr and Mrs James, of Humphries Street, were at a concert, leaving the house and three children in charge of a daughter aged 9 years. Through some means the house caught fire. The three children, all girls, endeavoured to save their baby brother, but were overcome with smoke and had to leave. The Brigade was soon on the scene, but the house, being old and very dry, was burnt down in a few mmutes. The charred remains of the child were recovered from the ruins subsequently.
