Mki.bournk, Feb. 15. A Marine officer, who recently' spent fifteen months on the Ker-
guelen Island, states that Norwegians maintain a prosperous whaling station there and employ a 2000-ton steamer, the Jeanne U’Arc, to convey the , produce to Capetown. He thinks this vessel was perhaps driven south of her course by bad weather, aud may have been the steamer sighted from Marion Island,
The Premier (Mr Murray) received a cable from the Premier of Natal stating that the s.s. Wakefield will be unable to leave Durban till Thursday week at latest. Much indignation is expressed locally at the delay.
