ORDINARY MEETING

The ordinary meeting of the above was held last night. Present : —Messrs F. Pirani (chairman), Dixon, Fraser, O’Dea, Purnell, Spurdle, F. Guthrie M.P. Resignations ; —J. Johnson, H. M. Campbell, H. A. Young, J. Ritchie, P. Gordon, E- Hastings, M. E. O’Brien, N. Burbush, R. Howie, L- Gascoingne, W, H. Burgess, G. S. Mcßean and O. F. Larcombe.
Appointments ; Miss Cody, Makiuo ; J. D. Aitken, Waiata; Miss Lynch, Kairanga ; Miss Earle, Rataiti; J. Evans, Taikorea; Miss May, Taikorea ; Miss Bauckham, Ashhurst; J. C. Lynne, (temporary) Marton ; Miss Fraser, Taikorea ; Miss Doull, Rmgiwahia. Leave of absence :—M. Tremewan, E. Henry, F. C. Raikes (without pay), L. 0. Mowbray, S. M. Pitcher.
Campbell Street Palmerston N., re complaint about the appointment of assistants. —The Chairman to reply. Foxton 3s 2d was passed for payment for repairs to drainage pits. Re dividing lence, this was left in the hands of the Chairman and MrFraser.
Application for new school at Palmerston N., to be sent on to the Education Department. Numerous applications from committees for grants were refused for want of funds. The Board laid it down as a general rule that, owing to lack of funds, leave of absence would be granted in future without pay. Mr W. Adams, Mangaweka, was appointed Major of Cadets. Bank overdraft 12s 2d. Accounts passed for payment, £797 5 s sd. Mr H. Gabites was appointed Captain ot the Foxton Cadets. The Board adjourned till 16th March.
