“PICKINGS.”
Napier, February 14,
Reference was made at the meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Charitable Aid Board to-day to the matter of one of the members having supplied the Board with goods of a value over the statutory amount. The chairman (Mr C. H. J Granby) made a statement on the subject, in the course of which he emphatically denied that he was aware of the transaction, giving dates to show that he was away at the time.
Mr F. A. Fagleton, the member in question, forwarded his resignation, which was accepted.
