CADET NOTES.
Staff Ser.-Major Dovey resumed instruction of the local cadet company this afternoon, and the boys are very keen in view of the coming inspection by Lord Kitchener. After the parade cadets Fred Hadlield and Bert Wyeth were appointed lance corporals. Ou Saturday a meeting of the officers of No. 1 Wanganui Battalion to which the Foxton Cadets are attached, was held in Palmerston North, and it is anticipated that a muster of filly 360 will be obtained from this Battalion alone. So far as is at present known the cadets will proceed to Hutt ou Wednesday, 23rd inst., a combined parade of the Wellington District Battalions will be held ou the 24th, and on the following day Lord Kitchener will inspect the cadet forces. It is expected that the cadets will return home ou Saturday, 26th.
