VISIT OF THE FAMOUS SCARLET TROUBADOURS.

ONE NIGHT ONLY

The bright and charming combination of English artists so well and popularly known throughout Australasia as the Scarlet Troubadours from London, are announced to pay a visit to Foxton 011 Wednesday, the 16th February, at the Public Hall. The marked popularity and huge success on their previous visit to New Zealand has followed them throughout their extended Australasian tour, and their efforts have been rewarded by a continuous succession of brilliant and crowded audiences. Commenting on one of their recent performances an Australian exchange writes : — 11 The Troubadours reveal to an audieuce one of the cleanest and most delightful entertainments ever r A upon the stage, and the crowded audience were demonstratively charmed, stirring up scenes of enthusiasm that were quite remarkable. The Troubadours love their work and give their best, which is first-class, in a hearty and joyous manner. Taken singly or in a group, the result is ever the case. The personnal includes Miss Gertrude, late principal soubrecte with Mr George Edwards’, Loudon companies; Miss Maude Fane, soprano, from the Lyric Theatre, London ; Mr Sydney Mauueriug, formerly principal tenor with the Moody-Manners Opera Company ; Messrs Alfred Cunningham and Ford Waltham (the baritone and basso of the male quartette accompanying the party) were both members of the celebrated Loudon Meister Glee Singers ; Mr Edward Warwick, who enjoys the reputation cf being one of London's foremost society entertainers, and a prince of fun makers ; and Mr Claude Leplastrier, one of the cleverest coloured chalk manipulators and make-picture exponents. As this musical event promises to be the greatest in the amusement annals of Foxton, the management desire to advise intending patrons to make early application for their tickets at the box office. The box plan was opened this morning at 9 a.m. with Mr F. Levett.
