The High Commissioner cabled at noon yesterday, as follows : Hemp market quiet but steady ; prices, spot good fair, ,£27 10s; fair, ,£26 10s ; Manila fair current, £26 1 os; January-March good fair, .£27 ; fair, ,£26 ; Manila, £26 ; Manila output 23,000 bales, WOOL SALES. GOOD PRICES FOR NEW ZEALAND CLIPS. London, Jan. 30. There was a good selection of merinos at the wool sales. Bidding was spirited, with a hardening tendency. American buyers operated heavily lor medium and low crossbreds. The Elderslie clip brought ißd, the average being i6d; the Te Apili clip 16kl ; average the Tautane clip 16)£d, average I4:'sd ; W.D. i6d, average 12 Gd. In afl, 118,836 bales have been catalogued to dqte, and 109,097 sold.
