ATTEMPTING TO MURDER.

Auckland, January 24. George Olliver, charged with attempting to murder his wife at Kingslaud, and with attempting suicide, appeared at the Police Court to-day. A remand for a week was granted, but ou accused’s counsel applying for bail, on the ground that imprisonment was affecting accused’s health, the police objected, because Olliver bad told a constable be was not sorry for what he had done, and only wished be had to meet the ends of justice by the last sentence of the law. The application for bail was adjourned.
