BOUTTELL’S PICTURES.
A very fair audience attended last night at tbe Public Hall and were well rewarded, and those who were not present missed something good. Foxton has had some very good ‘‘living picture” shows, but the present one compares more than favourably to any previous ones. Tbe films were very clear and distinct and free from flicker. Of the pictures shown, one in a dramatic sense, was ‘‘La ToSca” and from the life sign portraits shown one could forcibly realise the arama so ably depicted by well-known actors. The cold blooded villiau “Scarpia,” who eventually meets his doom was realistic. Ot the comic scenes nothing could have raised a curtain laugther more than “William’s Suicide,” another ‘‘The Sweep’s Christmas” due to the fidelity of a dog was equally humourous. The interest of the audience reached a fitting conclusion in the portrayal of ‘‘The Boy Scouts.” Space precluded mentioning tbe other good items provided, but Mr Boutell when thanking the audience for their attendance said that he hoped to visit Foxton again shortly. If he does so he may rest assured of a good house. Last but not least a compliment must be paid to the music provided. The company will re-ap-peai in Foxton on February 18th, being unable to t btain the Hall for February 4th.
