STATE COAL MINE STRIKE.
Grevmouth, January 4
The Hon. R. McKenzie, Minister for Mines, held a conference with the miners’ executive this morning in regard to the State mine strike, He offered to agree to any award in existence at Granity, Seddonville,. and Dennistou. The I executive agreed to accept Seddonville, and a meeting of miners was held at six o’clock to consider conditions. ■ A very lively meeting to6k place, lasting till close on eleven fT" o’clock. The meeting insisted on 1 certain alterations to the Seddon- / ville agreement, and the Minister will consider the matter in the: morning. It is more than likely that an amicable settlement will be arrived at, as the miners haVe consented to start work to-morrow morning.
