Among the children who made first-class attendances at the local school this year were Ellen Skilleu (whose record is four years without missing a half day), and Jeannie McKnight who put in five years without a break, in Scotland. These girls deserve special mention. When the name of Violet Pearce was called out iu the secondclass division, a bright little girl limped forward with a bandaged foot. Violet had been absent on four half days during the year. Rather than lose her certificate by reason of the injured foot she was conveyed to school in a go-cart. FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL. DOG TAX, MR E. J. MARTIN, of the Avenue, has been appointed Registrar of Dogs for the Borough ofFpxton. The fee for dogs is Ids, but will be reduced to 5 s if paid before the 31st January, 1910, after which date the full fee of 10s will be charged, and sued for without further notice.
