A BOY HERO.
REWARDED WITH THE ALBERT MEDAL. London, December 14. King Edward received Tom Lewis, and presented him with the Albert medal. [Among the many heroic efforts made to effect rescues in the landslide catastrophe at the Alexandra Dock extension works, Newport, Monmouth, on July 4, in which 254 men were killed, was that of a lad of 14 years. This boy crawled through a small hole 30 feet below the surface, and worked with his.head downwards for two hours sawing a beam for the purpose of releasing a workman. The earth suddenly collapsed, and Lewis was hurriedly rescued, the workman for whom he had risked so much being killed.)
