FRIENDLY SOCIETIES’ PICNIC.
BOXING DAY. A meeting of the delegates from the local Oddfellows’ and Druids’ Lodges was held last night to consider a proposal to bold a Friendly Societies’ picnic on Boxing Day. It -was decided to hold a picnic and sports at Paiaka on that day and the following committee was appointed to arrange all details: — Messrs. Woods (chairman), Wynd, Hussey, G, Whibley, Huntley, Nye, Ball, A. Dudson, Fuller, McKnight, and McSavney. Messrs P. T. Robinson and R. Johnstone were appointed joint-secretaries- It was decided that Messrs Levin and Co. be offered the same terms as last year for conveying the picnickers to Paiaka and also that the Borough Band be in attendance. The next meeting of the committee will be held on Monday night.
