The cricket season will be opened locally to-morrow afternoon, when the "first round of the Foxton Association’s competition for the Austin Shield will be commenced. The matches set down for decision are :-rUnited v. Foxton, on the Victoria Park pitch ; and Glenoroua v. Himatangi, at Himatangi. The following will represent the Uniteds :-rStiies, Woods, Gordon, Betty, Spelman, Littlejohn, Holt, T. Bowe, W. Bowe, Young, Ashmore, Edliu ; emerg.: S. Reeve, A. Walden. .
