THURSDAY EVENING. The Gaslight. Sports to be held in Victoria Park on Thursday evening next promise to be a great success. Large entries have been received for the Sheffield Handicap from all parts of New Zealand, and include some of the best sprinters in the Dominion. All the scullers, have also signified their intention of competing in the i2oyds handicap for the silver cup presented by Mr Messena. ■ The Borough Band has been engaged for the evening, and the Club have SLgrett deal of expense in having 'track well lighted to ensure .spectators will be able to see .
