FOXTON CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING,
The annual meeting of the Foxtou Cricket Association was held in Messrs Fowler and Gordon’s office last night. Present :—Messrs Reade (Chairman), Martin, Robinson (Foxton), McCall, Woods, Gordon (United), Davey, Caithness (Himatangi), and Stewart (secretary).
The annual balance sheet showing a small credit balance was read and adopted.
A letter was read from the Glenoroua Club agreeing to join the Association. They asked that all matches with Foxton Club be played at Himatangi and also that if the two clubs concerned agreed to play any match on Saturday instead of the Wednesday that this be allowed.
The following officers were elected lor the ensuing year: Patron, Edwaid Newman, Esq., M.P.; President, Mr 0. Robinson ; Vice Presidents, Messrs George Coley, H. T. Hammond, T. Bowe, G. H. Stiles, F. W. Frauklaud, Dr. Mandl, W. Nye and L- Reade; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr W. S. Stewart.
The affiliation fee was fixed at £1 is per team.
It was decided that as the Himatangi and Glenoroua Clubs had supplied their own pitches it was therefore not fair to ask them to pay a portion of the cost of the Foxton pitch ; that the two local Clubs be asked to take over the liability of the concrete pitch in Victoria Park.
The request of the Glenoroua Club in reference to Saturday matches and matches at Himatangi was acceded to. The following fixtures for the first round of the competition were drawn up:—
December 8. Foxton v. United at Foxton; Himatangi v. Gleuoroua at Himatangi ; December 15, Himatangi v. United at Foxton ; Foxton v. Glenoroua at Himatangi. December 22, Glenoroua v. United at Himatangi; Himatangi v. Foxton at Foxton.
