The Manawatu Herald. Saturday, November 20, 1909. A RECORD.

The months of September, October and November, will provide an easy record for the launching of warships. On the two sides of the North Sea there will be launched during those three months no less than four battleships and two mighty armoured cruisers, in addition to a small unarmoured cruiser for the British Navy. The particulars are as follows :— 1 Great Britain : Neptune, battleship, 20,250 tons ; Indefatigable, cruiser, 19,000 tons; Blanche, small cruiser, 3,500 tons. Germany : Ersatz - Oldenbuay, battleship, 19,000 tons ; ErsatzBeowulf, battleship, 19,000 tons ; “G,” cruiser, 22,000 tons.
