CRICKET IN FOXTON.
[To the Editor.]
Sir, —Is cricket in Foxton defunct or only sleeping ? In the latter case there should be a speedy awakening. The two local clubs met nearly two months ago and held, their annual meetings, appointing their delegates for the Association. Rumours - were abroad that other clubs in the vicinity were coming in and things looked very rosy. However, it seems as if a dark cloud has come over since then. Cricket in the Wellington provincia l district has been in full swing for over six weeks, but Foxtonites evidently do not know that unless a start is made, the better part of the season will have slipped away. Hoping this will have the effect of awakening the sleepers.—Yours etc., Eawrench E. Reach. [We understand that a meeting of the local Association is to be held on Monday night, for the purpose of drawing up fixtures for the coming season and that - the matches will therefore be started almost immediately.— Ed. H.]
