THE TICKET-OF-LEAVE MAN.
PUBLIC HALL, NOVEMBER 9th.
On Tuesday evening next November 9th, local playgoers will have an opportunity of witnessing for the first time in Foxton that sensational four act drama by Mr . Tom Taylor, “The Ticket-of-leave Man,” which will be played at the Public Hall by the local Athletic Club’s Amateur Dramatic Society. The piece has been carefully rehearsed for some mouths, and, as the Society have all the scenery required, which has been painted gratis, by Mr Geo. Tarr of the Phil Walsh Dramatic Co., and the dresses etc., will be appropriate, so that the entertainment provided should be better than that usually given by an amateur society. The dreary wait between the acts which is usually so pronounced in amateur productions will be done away with as it is the intention of the Athletic Club Committee to present the prizes and trophies won at the sports during the day to the different winners. The prices of dmission hav’e been fixed at 3s, 2s and is, and tickets can be obtained from all members of the Society.
