HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
A meeting of the committee of the local Horticultural Society was held in the Council Chambers last night. There were present : Mr. Alex Speirs (chairman), Misses Ross and Neylon, Messrs Bullard and Levett. It vyas decided tp hold the show in the Public Hall and not in the old school building as previously suggested. It was decided to communicate with the judges appointed to ascertain whether their services would be available. It was decided to obtain the consent of those who had donated special prizes for collection of birds eggs, to have the prize money distributed equally by paying is per ioo for eggs collected. It was decided to print and circulate extra entry forms. Amoug other matters discussed it was decided to purchase three gross of wells for the display of cut blooms, and' to offer a certain amount of space to nurserymen for exhibition purposes. It was also decided to provide better accommodation for the room and to have the poultry exhibits outside the hall.
