INCREASED POSTAL FACILITIES.
FOR MAKOWHAI DISTRICT,

In reply to his representation, at the request of Mr R. B. McKenzie and other settlers, Mr Edward Newman M.P., has received an assurance from the PostmasterGeneral that arrangements are being made for mails to be sent by traim from Foxton to the Makowhai district, in order that correspondence from the south may reach Makowhai and other offices on the day ou which it leaves Wellington. Atpresent the service will be five times a week, but if the train runs daily as is proposed, the frequency of the mail service will be increased accordingly.
