FATAL FIRE.
Hawera, October 22.
This morning at x. 30 o’clock, the Commercial Hotel at Normauby, a two-storeyed building of 13 rooms, was burnt to the ground. Thomas Grindley, a labourer, 33 years of age, was burnt to death. His remains, burnt to a mere cinder, were found among the debris. The hotel was owned by Hill and Co., and the licensee was A. J. Kempton. The insurances were— on the building, and j£ioo each on the stock and furniture.
