Wellington, Oct. 8. Two Chinese, Now Bee and Jim Young, were to-day each fined and costs for selling pakapoo tickets. Ralph Green, a chemist, was fined 20s on each of two charges of breaches of the Poisons Act. Eketahuna, Oct 8.
Another fire occurred last night. A house of five rooms owned and occupied by Neil Petersen, with its contents, was completely destroyed. The insurance on the house was £125 in the National, on the furniture and piano /150 in the State office- The cause of the fire was the upsetting of a kerosene lamp carried by Mrs Peterson.
