ROUGH ON THE VICAR.
London, Sept. 20,
A number of masked men waylaid Kev. John Lax, Vicar of Slainmore, Westmoreland, and bis schoolmistress.
The man was bound and gagged and they tarred him aud read a mock service.
Subsequently eight young parishioners were arrested and fined £5. The cross examination showed that the Vicar was married, aud suggested certain relations with his schoolmistress.
