NO-LICENSE.

PUBLIC MEETING TONIGHT.

A conference of No-License workers and sympathisers in the Manawatu electorate is being held in Foxton to-day. Delegates are present from all parts of the electorate- It is intended to carry on the campaign more systematically than heretofore. Mr Rockel (president), is presiding over the gathering in the Methodist schoolroom this afternoon. A public meeting will be held this evening in the Masonic Hall, to be presided over by the Mayor, when Mr W. H. Hawkins exM.P. for Pahiatua, will be the speaker. All who have heard Mr Hawkins, testify that he is one of the best and most racy platform speakers in the Dominion, and he should attract a good audience, not only of sympathisers, but of those who have not yet mastered this great reform question. Questions will be answered and Mr Hawkins has generously placed the platform at the disposal of any opponent who cares to come forward to champion the other side. Several musical selections will be rendered during the evening and admission is free.
