The thoroughbred sire Slrowan, and the draught stallion Royal Prince will be at the service of local breeders this season. The horses will also stand at Shannon. See advt. In this issue Mr., W. Trask inserts a stud notice in reference to the thoroughbred stallion, The Lark, which will travel this season in the. Foxton, Shannon and Levin districts. The Lark is a bright bay horse with black points, seven years old and has been a good performer on the turf for the last couple of seasonsAmong the events he has won was {he President’s Handicap at the Manawatu meeting, beating such good performers as Maniopoto and Borrasque- He cut out the mile and a quarter in the good time of amin 7 4*ssec with Bst 7lbs on his back.
