MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board was held in the Board’s office last night. Present: Messrs Gower (chairmain), Barber, Kaston, Hammond and Symons.
Correspondence was read from the Board’s Engineer, Mr T. Ward, advising that the Government had cabled to England for the Preestman’s grab, and i should come to hand within the next two months. He also forwarded the requirements set out by the Engineer of the Manawatu County in the erection of bridges. it was decided that the Clerk be instructed to write to the County Engineer, asking that the requirement as to timber necessary to be used, be amended, so as to allow the Board to use the timber from the old floodgates. From Dr. Wall, drawing Board’s attention to the condition of the outlet at the Foxton end of his property, and asking that same be cleared at once. —It was decided to reply, stating that the Board's operations had not interfered with his outlet in any way, and until the main drain was ready to connect, the Board was unable to do anything. The Clerk reported the amount to credit of the Loan Account at ,£lO5 103 2 d, and to the General Account 8s- yd. The general rates outstanding amounted to £sl I S S J d. He suggested that application be made to the Treasury for a further ,£2OO on account of loan, making ,£2,900 in all. Accounts amounting to ,£BO 3s were passed for payment against Loan Account, and ,£6 5s against General Account.
Mr W. Bock was appointed Returning Officer to the |k>ard.
