The Rev. Joseph White, of Levin, Moderator of the Wanganui Presbytery of the New Zealand Presbyterian Church was appointed some time ago to pay a Presbyterial visit to Foxton, and Mr Aitken of Foxton, to Levin. It has been found impossible so far to carry out the Presbytery’s arrangement, as however the General Assembly meets next mouth it is desirable to have the visitation previous to the meeting of the highest Church Court. The Rev. Joseph White will therefore preach in the Foxton Church on Sunday next, morning and evening and the Rev, G. K. Aitken will conduct the services at Levin.

At the last meeting of the Foxton Harbour Board it was stated that the Governor had issued an Order in Council taking the foreshore on which Messrs Tevin and Co.’s shed is erected and the section leased by Messrs McMurray and Co,, which was vested in the Board, for railway purposes. The rents of this portion of the foreshore amount to about per year. The members of the Board present decided to approach the Minister for Railways with a view to having the Order in Council cancelled, and in order that the position might be fully explained to the Minister decided to invite him to visit Foxton at an early date. The Secretary of the Board has received a letter from the Minister (Hon. Mr Millar), stating that he would visit Foxton as early as possible, but at present he was unable to fix a definite date. We received a telegram from Mr Newman M.P., this- morning advising that he was interviewing the Hon. Mr Millar to-day re the date of his visit to Foxton,
