THE MISSING WARATAH.

A CLAIRVOYANT’S VISION

-v The following letter appeared in a recent issue of the Auckland Herald : ‘ ‘Sir, —I met a lady friend today who£is clairvoyantly gifted, but does not practise same, and she informs me that for the last two weeks she has seen a beautiful steamer stuck on rocks near an island, which has a red sandy bearffi, and hills enclose it, and there seems to be lovely trees like palms growing on it. She says the coast is very rough, and she saw them throw a raft overboard, and people clinging to it in the water. She says there seems to be an officer standing on the beach with a life-buoy in bis hand, also a woman wrapping what appears to be a canvas sheet around her. She can describe what they are like. The steamer has a black funnel and hull with a bright colour be'"'How. lam sending you this to see if it answers in any way to the description of the Waratah. — M.C.”

To this the editor appended this note : ‘ ‘Our correspondent’s letter must not be taken too seriously by anyone. Anyhow, the stranded steamer which the lady is said to have seen, can hardly be the Waratah, whose funnel is black and whit 2, with a blue anchor painted on it.”
