ADVANCE FOXTON.
(To the Editor.)
Sir.— Passing through your interesting little town the other day, while admiring the glittering display in the principal places of business, the sight would have been much more enjoyable only that I nearly sprained my ankle in stumbling along over and through the hills and valleys in the foothpath, and while this wear and tear shows the amount of business transacted at this business centre, it would surely add to the comfort of the purchasers if they were more sure of their footing. Now I find that there is an abundance of cheap sand and tar in Fox ton, and a yard of the former with a barrel of the latter, would, in half a day make things happy and comfortable. How are the Borough finances ? will they bear the heavy drain —or perhaps those merchants in the immediate vicinity would subscribe together. I am sure it would increase their trade if they were compelled to shell out. I leave the matter, trusting the seed may germinate if the mild weather continues, and that, if I should pay another visit —say in twelve months time —I shall not be in danger of falling into a footpath gully in going to that lovely and substantial post office.—-I am, etc., Traveller.
