SHOT DEAD.

WOOI.STON, August 24.

Mrs John Harris, a widow, 58 years of age, was found dead in bed at her house, Woolston, Christchurch, to-day, with chambered revolver, ®ne chamber discharged, lying beside her. The deceased visited her son at Lyttelton on the 10th inst. and returned home, but had not been seen since that time. The son went to see his mother to-day, but found the house locked up, bat on the police breaking in they found the woman as described, with a bullet wound in her head.
