MOUTOA NOTES.
(Own Correspondent.)
About 20 persons assembled at the Moutoa school house last night to consider ways and means of providing a supply of crockery for use at the various social functions so often held here. Being sociable people, crockery has to be hired frequently for assemblies, picnics and concerts.
It was decided to hold a euchre party and dance on September 28 (in Gardner’s Hall), in, order to raise funds, and a committee of twelve was appointed to carry out the details. A vote of thanks to the chairman, Mr Galland, terminated the meeting.
The proceeds of the school concert amounted to nearly £7, leaving a clear balance in hand of library funds and part to providing trees and the remainder —£1 15s—to the Committee’s funds. The contractors are busy installing an Austral milking machine and Hornsby oil engine for Mr Arthur Edwards.
