The handicap is the biggest attraction outside a world’s sculling championship—that has yet been held in Australasia, and should attract thousands of people to witness it. Arrangements have been made with the River Boat Service to convey passengers to the course for a moderate figure. A small charge will also be made to witness the sculling along the river banks. A committee is being set up to carry out all the arrangements. We understand that the handicapping will be in the hands of Mr Goombes, editor of the Sydney Referee, who possesses expert knowledge of sculling. Exchampion Beach is to be asked to officiate as referee, and Mr Hartgill as judge and Mr O’Connor, of Auckland, as starter. Nominations will be free and acceptance In a future issue will be published the names of the probable starters together with their performances.
