THE MANAWATU AUCTIONEERING COMPANY REPORT.
At our Thursday and Saturday sales, good laying and table fowls experienced a good demand, one pen of very choice leghorns selling at 255, good laying and table sorts 4s 6d to 5s 6d per pair, a nice line of Pekin ducks fetched 9s 6d per pair. Carrots, parsnips, and swedes fetched is 6d to 3s 6d a sack ; Eldorado, Early Puritian and Up-to-date seed potatoes from 10s per bag. Chaff from is 6d to 3s 6d, the last for a bright heavy line; totara posts, £5 per 100; harness, new and second-hand brisk demand; farmers traps, ditto, all good lines of second hand furniture were eagerly competed for and consignments are advised. Clients thinking of holding a clearing sale are advised that the indications at present judging the results of the last two sales we have held that good results can be secured.
