PERSONAL.
Mr F. Peterson, late accountant for Messrs Wm. Ross and Son, but now of Napier, is spending a brief holiday in Foxton, Mr Marryatt, for many years associated with the Woodville Examiner, is now touring with the Arnst combination.
Mr F. Collins, who has been employed for some time at the local branch of Messrs Levin and Co., yesterday received word of his transfer and promotion to the head office at Wellington. His place will be filled by Mr Staples from the Wellington office. Mr Baillie, local manager of the Bank pf New Zealand, successfully underwent a critical operation at Palmerston on Tuesday, and, although ip a very weak condition, is, we are pleased to state, progressing satisfactorily, Messrs A. Bird and H. McArtney, two local young fellows, have bought out the picture business of the TaylorCarrington Company. The plant and films are considered to be the best and most up-to-date in the Dominion. Mr Booker also joins the company, as advance agent. The tour will commence at Palmerston, and work up the Main Trunk line, Foxtou being visited on the return. Mr McArtney is well-known in the picture business throughout N.Z. We wish the new combination success.
