MR A. W. HOGG, M.P.
The public of Foxton and district will have an opportunity of hearing Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P., and ex-Minister for Roads and Bridges, Customs and Labour, on Tuesday next, in the Masonic Hall. Mr Hogg comes to Foxton at the invitation of a number of citizens, and his address should attract a large audience. The Foxton address will be the last delivered in the North Island prior to Mr Hogg’s visit to the South, dates of which have been arranged. It may be mentioned that Mr Hogg is not stumping the country on his own initiative, but at the request of the people in the various centres, and the invitations to deliver addresses have been so great that Mr Hogg’s spare time will be fully occupied right up to the opening of Parliament. Press criticisms in respect to Mr Hogg’s retirement from Cabinet have been so distorted that it will be interesting and educational to hear the real cause of the split, from Mr Hogg. The address should be interesting to everyone, independent of political colour. Mr Hogg is not a stranger to Foxton, having spoken here on a previous occasion, and he has also evinced much interest in Foxton’s welfare. We expect to listen to a plain, unvarnished tale, free from Party bitterness, and Mr Hogg’s views an the two great questions : Land ond Currency. We can assure Mr Hogg of a first-class hearing.
