A CURIOUS THEORY About EARTHQUAKES.
“ The cause nf eartliqu akes, is sin ” This is; the way the great preacher explained these terrifying convulsions of the earth. Just fancy the destruction of Messina and lleggio as resulting from violation of moral law. It is more likely that a good deal of sin results from earthquakes. But Hannah More, the great authoress, came pretty close to the truth when site said “ The cause of a deal of sin, is bile’’! That bit nf wisdom and opinion we can understand easily. Bile poisons the blood—ami poisoned, impure blood poisons the brain. The brain is the organ of the mind and senses.
All the earthquakes that ever shook this wicked world have not done as much harm to human beings as ie done .every year by sleepy stomachs and lazy livers. Generals have lost battles, workmen have lost good jobs husbands and wives have quarrelled, because of “ a touch of liver complaint." That ugly force called biliousness could “ breakup a majority in the House of Commons.” “From my youth I was afflicted with poor health and suffered much from Indigestion and Asthma. The asthma was particularly bad, in the hot steamy weather that prevails Queensland in the summer rainy season. My breathing was so difficult that I felt like suffocation. I feared going to bed at night and had to sleep propped up by pillows. The Indigestion also caused me a lot of suffering. The little food I was able to eat caused me much pain and distress. The illness gradually increased on me, I became very weak and maciated and I was subject to fits of depression and nervousness. “I tried a lot of different medicines and treatments; but nothing gave me any real relief until, about two years back, I took Mother Seigel’s Syrup. I was in a very bad way indeed, at the time, but a few doses eased my chest, and in a few days I began to breathe freely and to sleep without the usual choking sensations. My appetite improved, all the distressing symptoms of Indigestion decreased and I felt stronger and better In quite a short time I was quite freed from my old ailments. I shall always use Mother Seigcl’s Syrup when I need medicine.” Extract from letter of Mr William Law, 408, Ann Street, Brisbane, Q. Whatever may be the natural cause of earthquakes there cau be no doubt about the upheaval that Billiousness and Indigestion cause m the human system. Nor is there any doubt that Mother Seigel’s Syiup will cute these disorders and at the same time rid the sufferer of constipation, flatulence, dizziness and all the attendant miseries. It is a purely herbal medicine and tones up and strengthens all the organs of digestion.
