THE MISSING WARATAH.
Mrubourne, August 12. The agents of the Waratah state that they have become reconciled to the view that the steamer is drifting out of the beaten track, and they have little doubt for her ultimate reappearance. Capetown, August 12. The cruiser Forte has returned to Simonstown. She covered 1320 miles in a fruitless search for the Waratah. London, August 12. The Forte, Hermes and Geelong continue to search for the Waratah and the Pandora renews the search on Monday. The Waratah’s re-insurance at 80 guineas is the highest ever paid for a vessel of that size. The underwriters suggest that she may have broken her propeller or rudder that is causing the delay, instancing the Waikato, which was missing for a long time.
