DEATH FROM AN OPIATE.

Palmerston, August 13

Mr William Rockstrow, aged 28, son of one of Palmerston’s old settlers, was found dead in bed at his parent’s residence to-day. He had been very despondent of late, and had not been sleeping well. Death resulted from an opiate of some kind- It is understood that deceased, who was formerly employed in the Wellington Post Office, and was in South Africa with the Seventh Contingent, had intimated to his friends that he was tired of life, and left a letter for his father.
