MARKET REPORT.
The Manawatu Auctioneering Co. report as under : —The wet weather at the end of last week had an adverse effect on business 10 all perishable produce causing a decided slump. Prices ranging as under: —Parsnips 2s fid to 3s fid, carrots 2s to 3s, marrows 2s to 3s, pig potatoes is 9d to 2s gd, prime onions on strings id per lb, mangolds is fid to 2s, really prime potatoes are getting difficult to procure and are bringing 11s per sack, good average potatoes 7s fid to 9s, nice sample of early Eldorado seed 10s, nice sample selected up-to-dates xos, swedes is fid per sack. Oatsheaf chaff suitable for cow feed is gd per bag in lots, for horse feed fetched from 2s up to 3s fid, for a particularly heavy bright line of Wairarapa stuff. Poultry fetched from 2s to 4s fid each the latter for a few pens of well bred laying fowls. Ducks from 2s fid to 4s each. 3?or traps, harness and furniture we have a demand.
