FOOTBALL.

The senior fixture set down for decision on the racecourse on Saturday is between the two local teams, Awahou and Albion. This will be the fourth occasion on which these two teams have met this season and although Awahou have won all the matches, the games have been fairly even. As both clubs will be represented by their full strength on Saturday a very close and interesting game should result. The kick off will take place at 3 p-m., and Dr .Adams will have charge of the whistle.

The following team has been chosen to represent Horowhenua against Manawatu at Devin on Saturday : Full-back, Martin ; three-quarters, N. Winiata, Cook, Rawiri; Five-eights, M. Winiata, Coote ; half, Cordello ; wing forward, King ; forwards, Sciascia, Wilson, Ropata, Douglas, George, W. Winiata and Timms. The Horowhenua Chronicle says that the weak spot in the team is Martin at full-back. He should have made room for Mack Royal, who is a much superior player. The following will represent Awahou against the Albions on Saturday : —Marsh, Bird, Tuohey, Rore, Joe, Jeffries, Hooker, Saveli, Wanklyn, Reihana, Robinson, Andresen, Haeana, Reid, Coley and Withers.
