SCULLING.

We have received a wire from Mr S. Messena, advising that he has posted a cheque as a deposit on behalf of George Welch, of Akaroa, to row George Day, on the Manawatu, for /200 aside. Day lias signified his willingness to put up a deposit with Mr Coomhes, editor of (he Sydney Referee, and as soon as this is done the articles for the race will be drawn up and forwarded to Australia for Day's signature. It is expected that the race will take place about November.
