RECEIVES 12 MONTHS’. London, July 28. Peter Ganter, or Munich, was sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment for a hoax in booming a novel entitled “Double Faces of Morality.” Peter Ganter was arrested at Munich on December 21 of last year. With a view to booming a novel he addressed to half a million people a private letter, illegibly signed, purporting to emanate from a friend, in which he named the novel and spoke of it as a gross scandal on morals. Booksellers were in consequence beseiged, and some even insulted by eager enquiries because the book had nqt arrived.
