FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Foxton Harbour Board was held in the Council Chambers last night. Present:— Messrs Stiles (chairman), Gardener, Nash, and Wood. The Board’s solicitor, Mr Moore, was also in attendance. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs Tolley and Wilson. Correspondence was read from Mr E. Newman, M.P., suggesting that notice be given to certain tenants on the river foreshore that all rents are now payable to the Board.—lt was decided that a Committee, consisting of Messrs Stiles, Moore, and Bock, be set up to obtain all particulars in reference to the foreshore leases, and furnish a report at the next meeting of the Board. From the Secretary of the Marine Department, enclosing statement of accounts in connection with the Marine reserve leases, foreshore rents, and rents for pilot station reserve, which showed that there was a balance due the Board of ,£5 us 3d. He also advised that the Minister does not see his way to agree to the Sanatorium reserve being vested in the Board, but there is no objection to the Beard occuping it in connection with the piolet’s residence until it is wanted by the Government. The Secretary reported that the amount to credit at the Bank of Zealand is 10s 6d. Since last meeting the sum of being £25 for rent of signal reserve and £2O 5s pilotage fees for June. He estimated the pilotage for July at The Harbour Master’s report was read in committee.
Accounts amounting to £4.1 5s 3d were passed for payment.
