HEMP EXPORT.
Weujng-ton, July 11. The returns of hemp graded for export during the month of June totalled for the whole dominion 5143 bales, or an increase of 1312 bales oyer the corresponding period of 1908, The twelvemonthly period, however, shows a very heavy decrease. The bales graded for the two years ending June 30 were as under:— 1907, 107,579 bales, 1909, 76,782 bales; decrease 30,797 For the six months ending June 30 the position was as follows
*9OB, bales; 1909, 42,561 bales; decrease, 12,570 bales.
The principal contributors in bales for the -- month of June 1908 and 1909 were as follows: — Wellington.—*l9o9, 2156; 1,908, .1963,.
Foxton. —1909, 1425 ; 1908 693.
Auckland.— 1909, 655 ; 1908 467.
Dunedin.~ri9o9, 388; 1908 3i5.
Bluff.-— 1909, 334 ; 1908, 230. Lyttelton.—l9o9, 163. The total output for the month was 5143. as above stated. “Good fair” predominated at* Wellington for last June, whereas the. largest quantity graded for June was “ fair grade;” There were 1163 bales of tow graded for the (second grade predominating); and 22 bales (Auckland) werecondemned. *
